Track Length Tables
How often do you have the problem that there is a gap in your track-design that
you have to fill with straight pieces? Here is the answer, this is the
reference. The documents below list all reasonible possible track length
combinations for märklin C, K, M, the large 1-track, and the small Z-track.
Length Tables
- C-track table
(30 pages, length up to 2010 mm, 57 kB)
- K-track table
(32 pages, length up to 540 mm, 62 kB)
- M-track table
(21 pages, length up to 720 mm, 39 kB)
- 1-track table
(6 pages, length up to 1800 mm, 12 kB)
- Z-track table
(31 pages, length up to 1500 mm, 56 kB)
Comments
- Each table row entry shows the tracks used, the number of track pieces in
brackets, and the total length in millimeter
- If several combinations result in exactly the same track length, only the best
one/ones are listed. "best" means least number of tracks, or avoiding an
"unwanted" piece.
- For greater lengths only one best combination may be shown per millimeter
increment.
- C-track lengths are specified to 1/100 mm precision, which is better than
märklin's specification. Lengths result from reasonable assumptions and
geometry calculations.
- If you need to fill a gap longer than listed, start with standard tracks
until the gap shrinks so much to be found in the list.
- The first lines of the documents indicate which assumptions have been
made to limit the number of certain track types, or completely avoid certain
track combinations.
- At the end of a document (except 1-track), the lengths (typically rounded to integer
millimeter) are listed, which cannot be filled with available pieces.
